Description
Comano is situated in the upper valley of the river Taverone at the foot of the Apennine National Park with its marvelous peaks that can reach 2000m of altitude.
This area offers several hiking paths with beautiful views over the Apennine range and the valley of Lunigiana.
In the historic centre there is the St.George’s Romanesque church dating back to the 9th century and further north a circular tower previously belonging to the Comano castle.
If you continue towards the Lagastrello Pass you pass past the artificial Lake Paduli surrounded by the Monte Acuto and Malpasso.
Few kilometers past the Lagastrello Pass is a small ski resort. Also worth a visit is Camporaghena, the Santa Maria Assunta parish church in Crespiano and the small hamlet connected by the hiking trails around Comano.
